Once again Republicans have vowed to repeal Obamacare (“the Affordable Care Act”). This is really getting way too repetitive. If the GOP keeps going backwards, how do they expect the country to move forward? Well I guess that’s my answer. Republicans would rather waste time playing the same old tricks and maneuvers over and over again. They do not want to fix the economy but instead blame President Obama for trying to fix it. That easier for them to do. Play the blame game.
So once again, Republicans are moving forward to take us backwards with H.R. 6079—repealing the Affordable Care Act. If the GOP is successful with repealing the Affordable Care Act, things would go back. 6.6 million young adults who have been able to stay on their parents’ health insurance policy until age 26 will be once again left dangling without health insurance. Children with pre-existing conditions will once again be denied coverage. With many of our children now facing adult illnesses such as adult onset diabetes and high blood pressure, this would be devastating.
Nearly 70.000 Americans who gained insurance through pre-existing conditions insurance plans would have to go without insurance. Seniors would also lose out. Under the Affordable Care Act, seniors receive free preventive case and more generous prescription drug coverage. And 32 million Americans without health insurance will be left out in the cold—uncovered.
And whatever happened to Congress creating jobs? They’re too busy treading water backwards to create jobs, fix the economy or lower the deficit. That’s our GOP controlled Congress for you. By the way, will someone please tell them that President Obama will veto HR 6079, if it comes across President Obama’s desk. Maybe, the GOP can stop wasting their time and our money. As promised, the vote is scheduled for July 11. And GOP Ground Hog day returns.
